Overview
Unlike Text Templates, which are simple strings, Webpage Templates link directly to a SnapApp Page. This allowing you to: - Use a drag-and-drop designer or import custom HTML/CSS. - Modularize content with layout components. - Preview responsive designs across desktop and mobile.
Configuration Workflow
Creating a Webpage Template is a two-part process: first building the UI, then linking it to a template record.
Phase 1: Create the Source Page
- Navigate to Settings > UX > Pages.
- Click + Add New and provide a Name and Slug.
- In the Page Builder:
- Use components to design your layout.
- Insert dynamic field markers (e.g.,
[[first_name]]) directly into text blocks. - (Optional) Use the Import tool to paste existing HTML/CSS code.
- Click Publish to make the page available.
Phase 2: Link to Template
- Navigate to Settings > UX > Templates.
- Click + Add New.
- Set Source to WebPage.
- In the Page ID dropdown, select the page you created in Phase 1.
- Set the Type (e.g., Email) and toggle Active to ON.
- Click Save.
Customization and Personalization
Webpage Templates support standard SnapApp merge fields. When the template is processed, the system will scan the linked page’s content and replace markers with record data.
| Method | Usage |
|---|---|
| Standard Fields | [[field_name]] - Basic record data. |
| Styling | Use the Page Builder to apply brand colors, fonts, and responsive alignments. |
| Code Import | Paste professional HTML email templates directly into the importer for high-fidelity rendering. |
Usage in Actions
Webpage Templates are typically used in Email Actions. When triggered, the system renders the linked Page as an HTML body, performs data substitution, and sends the finalized email to the target recipient.
