Image Field

The Image field type allows users to capture, store, and display visual media within the application. It supports traditional file uploads as well as advanced AI generation, providing flexible options for managing visual assets like profile photos, site inspections, or generated marketing content.

Basic Properties

The Basic Properties tab establishes the field’s identity and its relationship to the parent object.

Property Description
Data Type Set to Image. This enables the media upload and display engine.
Object The parent object this field belongs to.
Label The user-facing name, such as “Profile Picture” or “Site Photo”.
Column Name Prepopulated from the Label (e.g., primary_asset_image).
Description Internal notes explaining the required image resolution or usage policies.

Data Type Properties

When the Image data type is selected, the following advanced settings appear to manage file handling and generation:

  • File Input Type: A multi-select dropdown to restrict allowed extensions. Supported types: png, jpg, jpeg, svg, webp, or All File Types.
  • Image Input Source: Determines where the image comes from. Options include Upload (user files) or None.
  • Generation Source: Allows for AI-powered image creation. Options include OpenAI, Google, or None.
  • Compress Image: A checkbox that, when enabled, automatically reduces the file size of the uploaded image to optimize storage and performance.
  • Convert Image to .webp Format: A checkbox that automatically converts any uploaded image to the highly efficient .webp format upon save.

Display Properties

These settings control how the image is rendered and how the upload interface appears to the user.

General Display Settings

Property Description
Display Mode Determines the rendering quality. Options include: Original (full size), Thumbnail (small crop), or Low Resolution (compressed for faster loading).
Input Display Determines the UI layout for uploads. Options include Drag and Drop - Left/Right or File Button - Left/Right.
