SnapApp Communications Overview
SnapApp is more than a data management tool; it is a collaborative ecosystem designed to keep your team and stakeholders synchronized. By integrating multi-channel communication directly into your business records, SnapApp ensures that every conversation, alert, and outreach happens in context.
The platform offers multiple methods of communication including, Internal Collaboration (Feeds), Urgent Notifications (Alerts), Formal Outreach (Email), and Real-Time Direct Messaging (SMS).
SnapApp is a modular platform, meaning you have total control over which communication channels are active. Whether you want to silence internal alerts for a specific app or enable high-volume SMS outreach for another, the platform provides distinct levels of configuration: Workflow Logic, Application-Wide Toggles, Object-Level Feed Tracking, and User-Specific Preferences.

Core Communication Methods
SnapApp organizes its tools into four distinct methods, allowing you to choose the right medium for your audience and urgency.
1. Internal Collaboration (Feeds)
The primary workspace for teams. By enabling Feed Tracking on an object, you create a living history of every record.
- Example Use Case: A legal team discussing a contract revision directly on the Contract record, avoiding long internal email chains.
- Control: Enable/Disable per Object in the Object Builder.
2. Urgent Notifications (Alerts)
The “push” layer of the platform used to grab immediate attention.
- Example Use Case: An automated alert sent to a manager when an expense report over $5,000 is submitted for approval.
- Control: Managed via the Alerts toggle in Application Settings and triggered through Workflows.
3. Formal Outreach (Email)
The professional bridge to external stakeholders, clients, or vendors.
- Example Use Case: Automatically sending a branded “Onboarding Guide” to a new client the moment their status changes to “Active.”
- Control: Enable through application settings. Construct email action workflows. SMTP and SendGrid are available out of the box.
4. Real-Time Direct Messaging (SMS)
The fastest way to reach users on the go, providing high-visibility updates to mobile devices.
- Example Use Case: Sending a gate code and site address to a technician 15 minutes before a scheduled service appointment.
- Control: Activated via Application-Wide toggles and SMS action workflows.
All of these communications can be customized through templates, dynamic text placeholders ([[field_name]]), and custom logic. You can also define sender preferences, conditional triggers, and delivery timing.
