Templates are used to generate documents or outbound communications (e.g., emails, SMS, voice calls) in a predefined format. A template includes static text and merge fields that specify where SnapApp field data should be inserted. Advanced features enable templates to incorporate SnapApp expressions, images, and tables.

Create a Template

Open Settings from the User menu.

Select Templates from the UX dropdown menu.

Click + Add New in the top header of the list view to add a new Template.

Fill out the required fields and hit Save.

Detail view of the template will be shown.
Configuration of a Template
- Create a new Template
- Update the following settings
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of the template to be displayed in lists |
Source | The source of the template. Can be Text, Document, or Webpage |
Description | Description of the template’s use case |
Active | Template active or inactive status |
Types | Types of template. Can be Email, SMS, Document Generation, or Voice Call |
Body | If type is text, the body of the text template |
Sender | If type is text, the template sender |
File | If type is file, the file to be uploaded as the document template |
Page ID | If type is webpage, the page identifier for the webpage template |
View the Template Configuration
- Open Settings from the User drop down on the top nav.
- Select Templates from the UX menu.
- Select the Template in the list that you want to view.
- Click the Template name or ID to be taken to the detail view.
Edit a Template
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Templates from the UX menu.
- Search for the Template in the list that you want to edit.
- Click the
Edit
button. To see theEdit
button, you must haveUpdate
permission.
Clone a Template
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Templates from the UX menu.
- Search for the Template in the list that you want to clone.
- Click the
Clone
button. To see theClone
button, you must haveClone
permission.
Delete a Template
- Open Settings from the User menu.
- Select Templates from the UX menu.
- Search for the Template in the list that you want to delete.
- Click the
Delete
