Walkthroughs in SnapApp are interactive, step-by-step guided tours designed to help users navigate your application and understand its features. By overlaying instructions directly onto the UI, you can reduce onboarding time and ensure users follow the correct procedures for complex tasks.

Accessing Walkthroughs

Walkthroughs are managed within the Automation suite.

1. Navigate to the Automation menu in the sidebar.
2. Select Walkthroughs from the list of automation tools.

Configuring a Walkthrough

Creating a walkthrough involves defining the sequence of steps and the specific UI elements they highlight.

1. Create the Parent Entry

• Click + Add New in the Walkthroughs list view.
• Provide a Name (e.g., “New User Orientation”) and a Description to identify the tour’s purpose.
• Select the Application where the walkthrough should begin.

2. Define the Steps

Each walkthrough consists of multiple steps that guide the user’s eye: * Target Element: Use the element selector to point the walkthrough at a specific button, field, or menu item. * Content: Write the instructional text that appears in the tooltip bubble. * Triggers: Define how the user moves to the next step (e.g., clicking the target button or clicking “Next” in the tooltip).

Managing and Triggering Tours

• Manual Launch: Users can trigger walkthroughs from a help menu or a custom button specifically configured to start a tour.
• Auto-Start: You can use a Condition String to trigger a walkthrough automatically when a new user logs in for the first time.
• Monitoring: Like Workflows, you can view Events for your walkthroughs to see how many users are starting and completing them.
