Standardization and Layout
System buttons are in the top header of a list view. There are also record action buttons (edit or delete) on each record of a list. They provide a consistent user experience regardless of which data object you are viewing.
Core System Buttons
| Icon/Button | Name | Functionality |
|---|---|---|
| ๐ Personal Views | Personal Views | Allows users to save their specific filter and column configurations as a private “shortcut” for future use. |
| ็ฐ | Column Visibility | Enables users to toggle specific columns on or off to reduce screen clutter without deleting data. |
| ๐ | Download CSV | Exports the current filtered list into a comma-separated values (CSV) file for use in Excel or Google Sheets. |
| ๐จ | Generates a printer-friendly version of the current data view. | |
| ๐ | Search / Filter | Provides a global search bar and advanced filtering options to narrow down records instantly. |
| Show [X] rows | Pagination | Controls how many records are displayed per page (e.g., 10, 25, 50, or 100). |
How to use it:
- Click the Column Icon: Look for the Grid/Column icon (็ฐ) located in the top-left of the data table.
- Toggle Fields: A dropdown menu will appear showing all available fields for that list view.
- Uncheck a field to hide that column from your current view.
- Check a field to bring a hidden column back.
- Real-Time Update: The table will adjust immediately as you check or uncheck boxes.
2. Personal Views: Saving and Applying Your Setup
Once you have filtered your data and hidden the columns you don’t need, you can save that configuration so you don’t have to set it up again next time.
How to Save a New View:
- Set your Layout: First, apply your filters and adjust your Column Visibility exactly how you want them.
- Click Personal Views: Select the Personal Views button at the top of the screen.
- Click “+ Add New”: In the dropdown or side panel, click the button to create a new view.
- Name Your View: Give it a descriptive name and click Save.
How to Apply a Saved View Later:
- Open the View: Navigate back to the list view.
- Select Your View: Click the Personal Views button again.
- Click Your Saved Name: Find the name of the view you created in the list.
- Instant Load: SnapApp will automatically apply all your saved filters and column visibility settings in one click.
Configuring List View Buttons
As an administrator or builder, you have full control over which system buttons (like Download CSV, Print, or Personal Views) are visible to your users on any given screen. This allows you to simplify the interface or restrict certain actions based on the specific needs of that view.
Configuration Steps
You can modify these settings directly from the interface you are currently viewing.
1. Access the View Builder
- Navigate to the List View you wish to modify
- Click Settings in the application header.
- From the dropdown menu, select Edit View.
2. Modify Header Buttons
Once the View Builder opens for that specific screen:
- Locate the section titled View Buttons field in the configuration panel.
- Click into the selection field to see a list of available buttons.
-
The editor uses a dual-list interface to manage active features:
-
Available List (Left): Features currently hidden from the user.
- Active List (Right): Features that will appear in the view header. To Add or Remove Buttons:
- Highlight a button name and use the Right Arrow (ยป) to enable it or the Left Arrow (ยซ) to hide it.
- Common options include Column Visibility, Personal Views, Download As CSV, and Print. Save: Click Save on the selection window, and then click the primary Save button in the View Builder to apply the changes.
