Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin in SnapApp™ serves as a centralized safety net for your application’s configuration. This feature is automatically enabled for all applications; no manual setup is required to begin capturing deleted items.

Accessing the Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin is located within the User menu for easy access.

  1. Click on your User Profile in the top-right corner of the application.
  2. Select Recycle Bin from the dropdown menu.

What the Recycle Bin Includes

When components are deleted, they are moved to the Deleted Items list. This list provides a comprehensive overview of removed data and configurations, including:

  • ID: The unique system identifier for the deleted entry.
  • Record Name: The specific name or label of the item.
  • Deleted Object: The database table or category the item belonged to.
  • Deletion Details: Automatic tracking of when the item was deleted and the user responsible for the action.

Managing Deleted Items

Items moved to the Recycle Bin are held for a standard period of 30 days before being permanently purged from the system.

Available Actions

Within the Action column of the list, you can perform the following:

  • Restore (Undo Icon): Immediately returns the item to its original location in the app.
  • Permanent Delete (Trash Icon): Manually purges the item’s configuration permanently before the 30-day window expires. This action cannot be undone.

Access and Permissions

Access to the Recycle Bin is restricted to maintain system security. * User Roles: Only users with Administrative roles can access the Recycle Bin to perform restorations or permanent deletions. * Audit Compatibility: All actions taken within the Recycle Bin—including restorations and purges—are recorded in the Audit Trails for accountability.
