System fields refer to predefined fields in SnapApp database that store essential data for managing and operating the system.

These fields often include metadata such as created on, created by, last updated on, last updated by, owner IDs, owner type, application and status.

Steps to create System Fields

  1. Navigate to Settings from the User menu of the top bar.
  2. Tap on Objects from the Data menu of the left navigation bar.
  3. Tap on +Add New in the top header of the Objects list view to add a new Object.

An Object will be created with its system fields.

The system fields are the following:

Field_Name Datatype Description Example
_index Number This is a hidden system field which is used to track the count of record present in an object. Indexes are used to quickly locate data without having to search every row in a database. _index value of the first record will be 1 and the second one is 2 and so on.
ID Text The ID is a system field to denote the unique value of each record. This field acts as the primary key in the database. A new record is added to the object, the unique ID can be ID: fad4aa71-8a59-4f74-b371-ff82cc34c2ab
Created By Ref This is a ref field to User object which display the email of the user who created the record. A record is created by snapapp@bluevector.ai
Last Updated By Ref This is a ref field to User object which display the email of the user who recently updated the record. A record is updated by snapapp@bluevector.ai
Created On Datetime It is a system field which display the creation date and time of a record. A record is created on 2024-07-24 14:33:25
Last Updated On Datetime It is a system field which display the last updated date and time of a record. A record is updated on 2024-07-24 14:33:25.
Owner ID Text This Owner ID is a system field that displays the record owner email. The owner ID is snapapp@bluevector.ai
Owner Type EnumList Owner Type is a field that can be either User where the owner is a single User, or Queue where there are multiple owners of the record. The Owner type is User
Application Ref This is a ref field to Application object. This displays the application name in which the record is created.
Action This is field for different actions of a record like edit, delete, clone etc.
