Overview for Beginners
If you are new to SnapApp, think of the Form View as your “Edit Mode.” While a Detail View is for reading information, the Form View is where you go to make changes, fill in missing details, or reconfigure a specific record. It uses structured fields to ensure that data entry is consistent and efficient.
Why use a Form View?
- Focused Editing: It isolates a single record so you can make precise updates without distractions.
- Data Integrity: By using specific field types, it helps ensure the data entered follows your application’s rules.
- Workflow Control: You can redirect users to specific pages automatically after they save their changes.
How to Create a Form View
To build your first form, you will use the SnapApp View Builder:
- Navigate to your Application Settings.
- Follow the standard view creation steps to reach the View Builder.
- Under General Settings, set the View Type to
Form View. - Select the Application ID and the specific Object (data table) you wish to edit.
- Provide a View Name and a Slug (the unique URL path for this form).
