Number Field
The Number field type is used to store whole numeric values (integers) without decimal components. This field is ideal for counting discrete items, such as “Quantity,” “Age,” or “Year,” and supports mathematical operations within the SnapApp expression engine.
Number Field Properties
Note: Every field in SnapApp shares a set of universal properties, such as Display and Edit settings, that are configured during creation.

Basic Properties
The Basic Properties tab establishes the field’s identity and its relationship to the parent object.
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Data Type | Set to Number. This enables integer-only numeric input. |
| Object | The parent object this field belongs to. |
| Label | The user-facing name, such as “Order Quantity” or “Employee ID”. |
| Column Name | Prepopulated from the Label (e.g., total_item_count). |
| Description | Internal notes explaining what the number represents or its source. |
Data Type Properties
When the Number data type is selected, the following specialized constraints become available in the Data Type Properties section to enforce data integrity at the input level:
- Min Value: Sets the lowest possible integer a user is allowed to enter. For example, setting this to
1prevents zero or negative entries. - Max Value: Sets the highest possible integer a user is allowed to enter. For example, setting this to
100prevents entries exceeding that threshold.
User Interface & Input Controls
The Number field provides a streamlined input experience designed for rapid data entry.
- Adjustment Arrows: The field includes small “Up” and “Down” arrows on the far right side.
- Quick Editing: These arrows allow for increasing or decreasing the value by exactly 1 with a single click, which removes the need for manual typing for small changes.
- Input Validation: The interface automatically blocks non-numeric characters and decimals.
- Error Prevention: If a restricted character is typed, the field rejects the input instantly to keep the data accurate.

Thank you for following these steps to configure your SnapApp components. Building a well-structured data environment is the first step toward creating a powerful, automated application that scales with your needs.
