Drawing Field

The Drawing field type provides an interactive canvas within the application, allowing users to create freehand sketches, diagrams, or annotations directly on a record. This is a specialized Content Cell type often used for field inspections, site diagrams, or visual notes.

Basic Properties

The Basic Properties tab establishes the field’s identity and its relationship to the parent object.

Interactive Canvas & Annotation

The Drawing field offers two primary methods for capturing visual information: freehand sketching and photo annotation.

1. The Drawing Prompt

Once configured, users will see a “Click Here to Draw” input area within the application interface. Clicking this area launches the drawing modal.

2. Photo Annotation & Upload

Within the drawing interface, users can choose to:

• Sketch from Scratch: Use the white canvas to draw diagrams or signatures.
• Annotate an Image: Use the Browse button to upload a background picture (such as a site photo). Once uploaded, users click the image to add freehand annotations directly on top of the file.
