The DocAI field is a high-performance artificial intelligence component designed to automate data extraction from uploaded documents. By utilizing specialized parsers, DocAI identifies and captures key information from forms like tax documents and paystubs, significantly reducing manual data entry errors.

Basic Properties

The Basic Properties tab establishes the field’s core identity and its relationship to the parent object.

Data Type Properties

When the DocAI data type is selected, the following specific configurations become available to define the AI engine’s behavior:

• File Input Type: Restricts allowed formats. Options include PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, or All File Types.
• Classify and Validate: A Yes/No toggle to automatically identify the document type before extraction.
• Classification Parser: When “Classify and Validate” is set to Yes, a new configuration field appears. Here, you must specify the Classification Parser ID used to identify and categorize the document before the primary extraction parser takes over.
• Quality Validation: A Yes/No toggle to check file legibility and clarity before processing.
• Filename Formula: Automatically names the uploaded file using record data via the Expression Builder.

DocumentAI Parsers

Select the specific AI model for processing. SnapApp supports a wide range of specialized parsers, and you can also create your own custom parser to fit unique business needs.

• Tax & Finance: 1040, 1040c, 1040se, 1099, W2, Paystub, Employer EIN, Bank Statement, Credit Statement, Mortgage Statement, Utility Doc.
• Identification & Legal: US Drivers License, US Passport, Foreign Passport, Generic ID, NYCID, Rec ID, Affidavit, Marriage Certificate.
• Business & Professional: ENL, Business Plan, Letter, Change of Station.

Edit Properties

These properties define security constraints, access control, and specific AI validation settings.

Validation & Other Properties

• Entity Validation: A Yes/No toggle that instructs the AI to identify and validate “entities” within the document.
• What it does: It checks for specific recognized data types to ensure the extracted text is a valid “entity” rather than just random data.
