Navigations - Page
A Page Navigation component is a vital UI element that directs users to a specific custom page within your application. This type of navigation is used when you need to link to static content, custom-built layouts, or informative landing pages that exist outside of standard object views or dashboards.

Types of Navigation Components
SnapApp offers various navigation elements to build a comprehensive user interface, including Dashboards, Custom Views, and Groups. The Page component is specifically designed to facilitate navigation to custom pages that have been previously created within the platform.
Create and Configure a Navigation Component
Setting up a Page Navigation follows the intuitive SnapApp UX workflow. Before starting, ensure you have already built the custom page you wish to link to.
1. Access the Navigation Builder
- Open Application Settings.
- Select the drop-down from the left navigation panel under UX.
- Click on Navigation.
- Click the Add New button from the right-hand side of the list view.
2. Configure the Page Navigation
After clicking Add New, select the Page navigation type and configure the following fields:
- Page Selection: Select the particular Page from the dropdown which was created earlier.
- Name & Description: Provide a proper Name for your navigation component and a clear Description of its purpose.
- Icon: Choose an Icon that you want to display next to the link.
- Status: Select the status as Active to make your nav component visible to users.
Common Configurations
Once the destination is set, you must define the visual placement and the logic governing its visibility.
1. Choosing a Position
You can display your Page link in three distinct areas of the application:
- Left Nav: The primary vertical sidebar for core application areas.
- Top Nav: The horizontal header navigation.
- User Dropdown: The profile menu on the top right, typically used for settings or help pages.
2. Visibility Logic (Show If)
To create a dynamic experience, use the Show If field. By inserting a SnapApp expression, you can ensure that the Page navigation only appears for specific users based on their roles or other custom conditions.
Note: If your application has many pages, consider using a Group or Folder component to cluster related pages into a single dropdown menu for a better UX experience.
