SnapApp’s navigation system provides efficient access throughout the application. It offers a range of customizable components that users can easily configure to navigate various sections, enhancing the overall user experience.

There are various types of navigation components.

  1. Page - Links to a specific custom page.
  2. Dynamic View - Provides navigation to a dynamic data view, like calendars or cards, tailored for custom objects.
  3. Custom View - Links to a pre-built custom view of specific data.
  4. Create View - Directs users to a creation page for a linked object (e.g., create a new contact in CRM).
  5. URL - Any URL can be linked from this component
  6. Dashboard - Connects to an existing dashboard for data visualization and insights.
  7. Group - Organizes components under a main group dropdown for streamlined access to related elements.
  8. Separator - Adds a divider between components, improving visual clarity.
  9. App Switcher - Switches between two different application in the same instance
  10. Search Bar - Search bar will appear in nav bar to search locally.

Guidelines for an Effective Navigation System

  • Consistency: Ensure icons and labels are intuitive and consistent with SnapApp’s design standards.

  • User Accessibility: Arrange key components based on user frequency and importance, placing the most accessed items within the left or top nav.

  • Simplicity: Avoid overcrowding; group related components to maintain clarity.

How to create a navigation?

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select UX → Click on Navigation → Click the Add New button
  3. Click on the type of Navigation Component you want as mentioned in the above section.
  4. Select an appropriate icon for your component
  5. Click the Active checkbox for its visibility in the navigation panel.
  6. Select the Sequence of the navigation component within the navigation bar.
  7. To show the Navigation on any specific condition, put the condition within Show IF bar.
  8. To add any custom group, select the particular group
  9. Menu can also be selected from the Menu dropdown
  10. Choose the Appropriate Position for your Navigation element to show up. It can be either Left Nav, Top Nav, or in the User Dropdown Menu on the top right of your application.

How to configure different types of Navigation?

  • For Create View : Select the Object from the dropdown.

  • For Custom View : Select the particular View from the dropdown.

Custom-View-Navigation-Type

  • For Dashboard: Select the particular Dashboard from the dropdown which must be created earlier

Dashboard-Navigation-Type

  • For Dynamic View : Select the particular type of Views from the dropdown like Calender, Card, Form, etc. and also Select an Object from the dropdown.

Dynamic-Navigation-Type

  • For Group
**Note**: For this navigation component, the user has to create a Group and then assign that newly created Group from the dropdown

Group-Navigation-Type

  • For Page : Select the particular Page from the dropdown which must be created earlier

Page-Navigation-Type

  • Separator : No configuration will be needed.

  • App Switcher : No configuration will be needed.

  • Search Bar : No configuration required

  • For URL : Enter a URL that you want to get redirected to by clicking the navigation component
