Users: The Fundamentals

Explore and manage your objects as described in the following sections:

Who is a User?

A user is anyone who interacts with your application. This can be split into several different user groups including but the defining line comes down to: Admins and Customers

It is best to thoroughly define your user groups before starting to configure your application.

Manage User Access

Create user groups with roles and permissions

Assign default application roles:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select  Global Settings from the left navigation menu.
  3. Set Default User Role to desired role set in the roles and permissions.
  4. Select Save to keep your changed settings.

Make sure to always set a default role with limited access to your application. Higher levels of access may be granted later with directions in the next step.

To Edit a User:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select Users  from the Access Control dropdown menu.
  3. Search for the user in the users list and select on the right hand side to edit.
  4. Select Save to keep your changed settings.

Delete a User

To delete a Data Source:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select Users from the Access Control menu.
  3. Search for the User in the list that you want to delete.
  4. Click the delete button. To see the delete button, you must have Delete options on the objects in one of the permission sets assigned to your user role.
